Tabled

How are you today? Weather treating you well? How's work/school/chillaxin?  When is the last time you drank a fruit smoothie?  We all have questions, and most of the time we have answers to the questions.  Right now, I have a pretty intense question: how do I fit all that needs to be done, including getting a good nights rest, into the 24 hours we are given in a day?  If I knew the answer to that question, I'd be pumped, rested, and ready to rock at every waking hour.

I have a few different things to talk about. 1st?  Justin Bieber.  You may say "What? Really? You're kidding, right?"  This is not a joke.  Over the last few weeks, I've come to appreciate Justin Bieber.  Why?  I've come to realize this dude is pretty genuinely talented, he's not your typical Disney Channel star turned rockstar overnight who just, honestly, isn't that good.  Nope, big man JB found his start upon youtube.com, impressing the masses, including Scooter Braun who introduced him to Usher who was so impressed....well it's all just history.  I'm not a particular fan of JB's music, I have not contracted the Bieber Fever, but I am going to admit he's talented, because he is.  Additionally, I have been impressed by JB's attitude and drive after becoming a world renown star overnight.  From what I've seen in interviews and such, he's just a kid having a good time, enjoys a sports-related ringtone, and actually has remarkable humility for his position in the entertainment industry.  I haven't done a whole lot of reading/watching, so I may just be speculating, but hey, JB keep it up, Buddy.

Next, this week marks the first round of directing project.  For mine, oh mine, I'll let you just watch it, there really aren't words to describe it.  I have been calling the "craziest-video-I've-ever-made."  I don't know if that's true, but definitely makes it into the finals.

Nutty.

Third, the POG revolution has arrived at Biola University.  Last week, if you recall (if you don't: http://emliv.blogspot.com/2011/02/reevaulate.html), I talked POG (Passion Orange Guava juice) up, explaining that Mr. Michael Warnecke and I took matters into our own hands and began requesting the Biola cafeteria supply it's customers with the delicable island drink that is POG: "On the note of POG, we (now a group of probably 10 people) have been asking the Biola cafeteria to supply the populous with the incredible POG juice.  We requested enough times that they claim they are finding out from their suppliers if POG is an option.  It's happening, the POG revolution is here."

So here's what happened, we requested, we requested, they responded saying they were looking at vendors, few days pass, a note appears on one of our "current status of POG search?" request cards: "We will be serving POG starting Tuesday morning!"  We could not be more happy, because we normally do not do breakfast, we got up extra early to get some delicious POG.  We hit up the caf, had trouble finding the POG, had trouble making the juice dispecer actually dispence POG, but when it was all said and done, we had cups full of POG and, my favorite, POG Berry (POG and cranberry fusion).  Let's just say it was heavenly.  I simply cannot believe we sought out to get something, we told people about it, we requested, requested, requested, and we received.  Well done, Biola Cafeteria, you guys flew to the top tier of my BEST-EVER list.  Can't wait for my next glass.

NOW, I've got some video for you, an interesting lineup to say the least:

This is "Children Go Where I Send Thee" by Tennessee Ernie Ford, and little dude on Tennessee Ernie Ford's right, our left, is PUMPED. This dude feels like beat deep deep in his soul. Good for him, let's take notes. I'M FEELING IT.

Introducing the most incredible lightshow I've ever seen. I have not a clue about how they pulled this off, all I know is it is incredible, and I sit in awe from behind my computer screen. BEASTLY.

There's just something about this next video. I think it may be the music. I think it may be the gang of cats. I think it may be that even cats get confuzzled. I think it may be that the gentleman and the cat communicate so effectively. I think it may be this video:

And there you have it, a little tidbit of the week.  Boom boom bam.  I feel like I'm forgetting something.  Maybe I am.  Forgetfulness, now there's a topic.  I forgot was I was going to say about forgetfulness though; oh yes, I was going to say forgetfulness is a great topic.

Have a pleasant morning/afternoon/evening.  Please.

Reevaulate

Yikes. I'm going to apologize in advance, because this post is going to be lacking. I'm really sorry, I don't really know what to make of it. I feel all I do on this blog is apologize. But I guess it makes sense because I'm not supplying the content you, the reader, deserve.

It's cold and rainy here. Doesn't make sense, especially because this last Saturday was arguably the best day of the year: I had 2-3 hours where I could just chill (which was enough to claim "best" by itself), the sun was shining bright and beautiful, and, because we live on the best floor on campus, we basked in the sun right outside our door. Pumping though the walls and into the sun was some beautiful reggae jams, most notably "Set Sail" by The Movement (Listen while you read):

You simply cannot help but enjoy life whilst listening to that jam.  Here's kind of an aside.  At Hume Lake, where I worked this past summer, POG (Passion Orange Guava) juice was readily available for consumption.  I grew accustomed to POG and most of my meals were accompanied by a phat cup of POG, sometimes with a splash of Cranberry.  All this to say, after I left Hume, my POG life departed from me, I have been craving POG every since.  My next door neighbor, Mr. Michael Warnecke, a chill bruddah from Hawai'i, lives of POG as well as the Hawai'i folk have gallon access 24 hours a day.  All that to say, he's been craving it as well.  SO, return to the beautiful, sunny, movement, day.  We are enjoying the sun, Mr. Michael Warnecke exclaims that he has a powder mix that will make a Lilikoi Passion drink, a drink that may, under the right conditions taste like POG.  I concocted the mix and poured a couple glasses, didn't taste like POG, but was a delightful island drink nonetheless.  So here's the scene: sun, reggae, fruity drink, candy, and a few hours.  Man alivin' it was a good day.

On the note of POG, we (now a group of probably 10 people) have been asking the Biola cafeteria to supply the populus with the incredible POG juice.  We requested enough times that they claim they are finding out from their suppliers if POG is an option.  It's happening, the POG revolution is here.

That turned into a considerable little post!  I never know where these things are going to end up.  I've got an even further twist for you:

I'm bring back something from way back when, just for reading's sake.  I found this winner buried within the depths of my computer.  It dates back to 2003 when I was into, well, very peculiar random things.  Check this out:

I'm sorry, I posted this whacko poem in here, but then I read it which I haven't done probably since 2003 when I found it, and I realized the imagery was well, not appropriate for this blog.  Let's just say the dude was trippin'.   I thought it was hilarious and random back then, which it is indeed, but I now know what was going on...

Yikes.

I watched this video this morning, I enjoyed it. Could be fake, I hope it's real, it could be real. Either way, this guy is on the cusp of something great.

Here's another video that blows the mind.  I have a majority of respect for this gentleman.

"the day before I shot this video, i was SUP surfing with a couple friends and 2 sharks circled us for about 15 minutes. the next day, i decided to go back out at around the same time and take my GO PRO HD HERO camera (gopro.com) mounted on a 10 ft pole and do some exploring.  Sure enough within 5 minutes a 9 ft shark came out of no where and circled twice and slapped his tail on my board before disappearing. then a minute later a 7 ft young juvenile Great White swam circles around me for 12 minutes. It was an unreal experience that I will cherish forever." - Chuck Patterson

That's the post for today.  Hope it was enjoyable.  Let the good times fly.

Have a good one.  Drink your favorite fruit juice.

Funded

Today I wear a polo that says "President's Circle, The Biola Fund."  School spirit.

It's going to be an interesting one today, mainly because I literally have little to say and little time to do it.  I feel like I'm gip-ping you guys, you deserve more.  You deserve a nice hearty bowl of "It's Wednesday" every Wednesday for contemplation, for laughter, for health, for tears.  You deserve it, you gold-star wielding internet goer.  I commend you for reading this, I commend you for coming back every week to see/hear/read me ramble about nonsense such as this.  You may find it interesting, I hope you do, otherwise this blog is worthless; actually that's completely wrong.  I created this blog three years ago in order to simply record the events of my senior year in high school.  It was not intended to be a regular, focused, traffic-attracting blog; think of it in the sense of a diary, you write all the stuff down, and then 20 years later you go "oh, I remember that stuff, I want to "relive" that stuff, let me read my diary," and there you go.  This blog is kind of like that, at least it was; now, I try to come up with entertaining, thought-provoking content, but it's difficult and I have a lot less time than I did in high school.  I hope I don't sound whiny, I just know that you, the thoughtful internet user, deserve so much more than what I have provided these last weeks.

BUT! I have news!  I just saved a bunch of car insurance on my money by switching to Geico. I have other news too though.

So February 4th, 2011, last Friday, marked a monumental decade.  Last Friday, STUFF turned 10 years old.  10 years ago, Mr. Stuart Weir, Mr. Scott Weir, and myself formed a exclusive club, we became STUFF brothers.  We would call each other "Stuff" like they were our names, hold it, Stuff WAS our names.  We created a marketed the famous "Stuff Snacks" and manifested short films and commercials that took the world by storm.  Now, 10 years later, the Stuff brothers all attend the same school, Biola University, and continue the legacy.  In fact, to commemorate our tenure, we are going to be remaking one of our most recognized films: "Murder Mystery Musical: How the Boy Died."  This will more than likely be released within the next 6 months.  Be on the lookout.

Below is an original scan from the early 2000's.  This piece of paper very likely does not exist anymore, but it lives on in the etchings of a computer and now the internet.

See! There you go!  Some manageable, readable content!  Hooray!

On a somber-er note, I don't know how this blog is going to take this semester.  This semester is going to be consuming my time like it's the "Coo-coo for Coco Puffs" dude devouring Coco Puffs.  Time's going to be DEVOURED.  So we'll have to see how this blog holds up.  I have my hopes up, but no promises....it may get a little thin.

No now I've got some video for you, some fun sporty video.

First is a new extreme sport taking the world's youth's interest.  It's called Hockern, and you a crazy amount of combos with a sporthocker and then sit upon it to complete the trick.  Like extreme sitting.  Sounds pretty ridiculous, but I'm not going to lie, some of the tricks the video below are GNARLY.  And then, if you're tired, you have a chair to sit on.  That's always nice.

Next up is a sport called Cycleball.  I think everything about this blows my mind.  I want to see the fixie generation play some Cycleball, then we'll really see if you have control of your bike.

That's it.  That's the day.  That's this Wednesday, completed.  Fun fun.  Now it's your chance to live.  Live!  Go experience life!  Life is all around you.

Blask

Another Wednesday, another experience, another opportunity.  It's February, the month that is difficult to pronounce because of that sneaky "r" chillin' after the "b."  January was a breeze, a little spark that set the fire of 2011 ablaze.  January was an inkling of thought, just a wee little bit of a start of something, but didn't pick up and moved on after January didn't pull it off.  What am I talking about?  You have just about as much a clue as I do.

We started the 2011 Spring Semester this week, let me tell you, it's going to be a DOOZY.  Classes are intense and the work load is going to be nutty, but guess what? It's time to learn, that's what college is all about, and if that means cramming as much material into this little head of mine and learning how to manage time well, let's do this thing.  It's going to be a challenge, no doubt, but it's going to be one swell set of 16 weeks.

So last week, Mawwiage Films released our second wedding Moment for Chad and Rachel Glazener.  This wedding was a great experience, the ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful and everybody involved were just top notch.  It was a good time and the video turned out really well, and now, for your enjoyment, it sits below, waiting for you to return January 8, 2011 and enjoy this moment.

Chad & Rachel from Mawwiage Films on Vimeo.

Other than that, I don't have a whole lot to talk about.  I feel like something has changed with this blog.  It used to be that I would come up with topics to discuss, even if it is as amateur as watching paint dry (which is a brilliant experience by the way); either way, I used to discuss topics on this here blog, that hasn't really happened recently.  It's too bad, maybe I'm just not inspired.  Strange.  Maybe that will change soon.

I have some video for you though, maybe that will serve as the inspiration.

Scratch that, I have something to talk about albeit short.  Last Saturday, the final Saturday of the massive 6 week winter break, a group of guys and I headed down to San Deigo to hit up Soma to experience a concert.  The lineup? Underoath, Thursday, A Skylit Drive, and Animals As Leaders.  We had been looking forward to this jam of a time for quite a while and now it was here and we were ready to ROCK.  I'm not going to get super detailed, I'll just touch on a few things.  First, Animals As Leaders absolutely RIPPED.  3 dudes: a drummer and two guitarists, no vocalist, no bassist.  However, the 2 guitarists both jammed on 8 string guitars and the drummer was out of this world.  The guitarist's fingers could have beat a cheetah in a footrace and the drummer's polyrhymic power was overpowering.  These guys had talent flowing out of the ears and they rocked the place!  Soma just sat and watched in awe of these fellas and the music they were producing.  ASD and Thursday proceeded to play, which were good, but I just don't have time to write about them. Sorry.  Underoath came on next.  Underoath is one of the bands that I jam to that I've never seen live for whatever reason, don't know why, doesn't make sense.  So, that being said, I had been waiting years for this moment.  Let me tell you, UO does not disappoint, they put on a killer show, played old and new, had way legit video projections behind them (I think they were made by Daniel Davison, the drummer, and his production company Isthmus Studio. I may be wrong.  Either way, the video was straight up krill).  I still can't believe it happened, I had the time of my life.

Concerts in general are fun.  You get to get sweaty and run into people and listen to super loud music and go nuts and other things.  Concerts are rad.  I dig 'em.

So, NOW, there's some video for you.  Fun fun.

This first guy just get's me pumped.  It takes you back to childhood and then slams into adulthood for the ride of your life.  The ultimate slip 'n' slide, no preparation necessary.  Looks like a blast.  That'll serve for some inspiration.

This next one is set here for sole enjoyment.  I've never seen anything like this, it's nothing that special, but it when it comes down to it, you kinda just sit in curiosity to what is really going on.  Inspirational.

Click the anywhere in the box below to begin.

So concludes.  Craziness craziness.

Enjoy your day today.  It's a good one.
