Tabled

How are you today? Weather treating you well? How's work/school/chillaxin?  When is the last time you drank a fruit smoothie?  We all have questions, and most of the time we have answers to the questions.  Right now, I have a pretty intense question: how do I fit all that needs to be done, including getting a good nights rest, into the 24 hours we are given in a day?  If I knew the answer to that question, I'd be pumped, rested, and ready to rock at every waking hour.

I have a few different things to talk about. 1st?  Justin Bieber.  You may say "What? Really? You're kidding, right?"  This is not a joke.  Over the last few weeks, I've come to appreciate Justin Bieber.  Why?  I've come to realize this dude is pretty genuinely talented, he's not your typical Disney Channel star turned rockstar overnight who just, honestly, isn't that good.  Nope, big man JB found his start upon youtube.com, impressing the masses, including Scooter Braun who introduced him to Usher who was so impressed....well it's all just history.  I'm not a particular fan of JB's music, I have not contracted the Bieber Fever, but I am going to admit he's talented, because he is.  Additionally, I have been impressed by JB's attitude and drive after becoming a world renown star overnight.  From what I've seen in interviews and such, he's just a kid having a good time, enjoys a sports-related ringtone, and actually has remarkable humility for his position in the entertainment industry.  I haven't done a whole lot of reading/watching, so I may just be speculating, but hey, JB keep it up, Buddy.

Next, this week marks the first round of directing project.  For mine, oh mine, I'll let you just watch it, there really aren't words to describe it.  I have been calling the "craziest-video-I've-ever-made."  I don't know if that's true, but definitely makes it into the finals.

Nutty.

Third, the POG revolution has arrived at Biola University.  Last week, if you recall (if you don't: http://emliv.blogspot.com/2011/02/reevaulate.html), I talked POG (Passion Orange Guava juice) up, explaining that Mr. Michael Warnecke and I took matters into our own hands and began requesting the Biola cafeteria supply it's customers with the delicable island drink that is POG: "On the note of POG, we (now a group of probably 10 people) have been asking the Biola cafeteria to supply the populous with the incredible POG juice.  We requested enough times that they claim they are finding out from their suppliers if POG is an option.  It's happening, the POG revolution is here."

So here's what happened, we requested, we requested, they responded saying they were looking at vendors, few days pass, a note appears on one of our "current status of POG search?" request cards: "We will be serving POG starting Tuesday morning!"  We could not be more happy, because we normally do not do breakfast, we got up extra early to get some delicious POG.  We hit up the caf, had trouble finding the POG, had trouble making the juice dispecer actually dispence POG, but when it was all said and done, we had cups full of POG and, my favorite, POG Berry (POG and cranberry fusion).  Let's just say it was heavenly.  I simply cannot believe we sought out to get something, we told people about it, we requested, requested, requested, and we received.  Well done, Biola Cafeteria, you guys flew to the top tier of my BEST-EVER list.  Can't wait for my next glass.

NOW, I've got some video for you, an interesting lineup to say the least:

This is "Children Go Where I Send Thee" by Tennessee Ernie Ford, and little dude on Tennessee Ernie Ford's right, our left, is PUMPED. This dude feels like beat deep deep in his soul. Good for him, let's take notes. I'M FEELING IT.

Introducing the most incredible lightshow I've ever seen. I have not a clue about how they pulled this off, all I know is it is incredible, and I sit in awe from behind my computer screen. BEASTLY.

There's just something about this next video. I think it may be the music. I think it may be the gang of cats. I think it may be that even cats get confuzzled. I think it may be that the gentleman and the cat communicate so effectively. I think it may be this video:

And there you have it, a little tidbit of the week.  Boom boom bam.  I feel like I'm forgetting something.  Maybe I am.  Forgetfulness, now there's a topic.  I forgot was I was going to say about forgetfulness though; oh yes, I was going to say forgetfulness is a great topic.

Have a pleasant morning/afternoon/evening.  Please.

Snaps

I'm back at school, just like *snap* that.  I'm taking a Spanish class, I'm three days in.  It should be good, it's basically immersion.  Which is a good thing, all I think about most of the day is Spanish.  Every day, constant Spanish throughout the week.  It's a good thing, but the class is very long.  Four hours a day, it feels like it get longer every day.  It's the first week though, it will speed up and feel short as the days go by.  Interterm is interterm.  It's bad in a good way.  I'm enjoying myself, there's so much work to be done.  So much work.  It's quite remarkable.

Because of this, I have little time to construct this Wednesday's post.  Sorry, I hope it doesn't produce negative emotions.

I have a couple announcements:

I had some fun designing this last week!  Hooray!  I completely redesigned my twitter profile as well as my myspace profile.  Here's something ironic, twitter is perhaps the most recent, biggest social media website, and myspace is perhaps the least, on the decline form of social media.  Here's the thing, I still dig myspace, I'd be on it every single day if it wasn't for nobody else wants to use it, I don't understand why.  At least from a designer's point of view, myspace destroys facebook, at least it did until myspace 3.0 came out.  It's all relative.  Here are your links:

Fun fun fun.

Here's something, while I was at Hume Lake during the summer, I shot two rolls of Kodak T-Max 400 film.  I had a good time, captured some good moments, and now they are online for you, you can now have a good time, you can capture some of those good moments.

Below is the link that links to the live album on my Facebook profile:

Fun fun fun.

You know what else is fun?

VIDEO(s)

First up, there's this beatboxer called Beardyman and he took his talent to unsuspectors, I dig I dig.

In the spirit of skating, I took a trip back to yesteryear and remembered Rodney Mullen.  Remember Rodney Mullen?  One word: NUTTY.  Revolutionized skateboarding without his style becoming wildly popular.

Have you heard of Pogo?  If you don't recognize the name, you probably would recognize some of his work.  Here's his latest:

"This is remix of sights and sounds that I filmed around the city of Johannesburg, South Africa. This marks the beginning of my World Remix project!"

Super sick, super classic, check it:

Lastly, for all you vocal buffs out there, this video surfaced the other day.  Yesterday, when I found it, it had around 500,000 views.  Now, as I write this, it has 5,393,300 views.  That's quite a difference in a day.  Super super rad.  This homeless man has an incredible voice and he....well I'll just let him tell the story.

Currently, people all over are joining together to help this guy out, get him a job, get his life back together, and it might just work.  I wish him the best.

UPDATE:

This is a great reason why the internet is rockin'. So great. So great.

Incredible.

And that's it folks.  Video heavy, media heavy, not word heavy.  It's a good thing every once in a while, yeah?  Fun fun fun for everyone.

Have a fun-filled day today.  Take a walk outside, feel the temperature, imagine what 20 degrees colder would feel like, and then imagine was 20 degrees warmer would feel like.  If you had to choose one, 20° warmer, 20° colder, or where you are right now, which one would you pick?

I must say, I'd be SO down for 87 degrees right now.  SOOOOO down.

Iron-cally

Sometimes I feel like Wednesday is everyday, this Wednesday, the second of December, feels like it comes after a week of Wednesdays.  That's probably a feeling that will lest for 5 minutes, in 5 minutes, I will not feel like Wednesday is everyday, but, in this moment, I do indeed feel like Wednesday is everyday, that this Wednesday, the second of December, feels like it comes after a week of Wednesdays.

Additionally, the last week has been nutty, this week continues to be nutty, this weekend will be extremely nutty, and next week is going to be nutty.  It's the end of the semester, I would say "What do you expect?" but that takes away the surprise factor that it has snuck up on me, caught me off guard, causing me to become flustered and decently overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done.  It's the last real Wednesday of the semester.  If you have been around me since the high school days, you know what this means.  The last real Wednesday of the semester is reserved for the powder blue Olympic suit.  It's a classic and it gets worn twice a year, once a semester, on a day that is ironically quite like today.  You see the picture, you might see if around, this is the blue suit.

Here are the last two successful blue Olympic suit Wednesdays (this day truly snuck up on me last semester, I completely forgot about it.)

Moving on to something a little different, I have poll for you, you say "what?," I say "A poll."  It has to do with how you got to this site, how your mouse clicks led you to this whacky site about 1/7 of a week in which I talk about and show weird things that may or may not matter to anybody.  Here's the poll.  Vote in the poll.  It's a matter of interest, curiosity, fun, all of the above:

I just had an idea.  You might have an idea.  Today in particular, I am struggling to come up with subject to talk about, this happens quite often.  So (this may not work) I want your suggestions!  Suggest a topic of discussion and I might discuss it; and then, wouldn't it be cool?, if it was a conversation between the people of the internet, submitting perspectives and opinions from all over this earth.  That'd be incredible, hard to attain, but incredible.  So, if you want to suggest a topic for discussion, simply add a comment to the end of this post and I will take a look.

Call this an experiment.

Man, I wish I had some good stuff to talk about, my brain just falters.  So, I move on, I digress, I scroll down.

Naturally, the video portion of this Wednesday comes next.  I have four videos for you, one of which I just decided not to show because it is perhaps not as exciting now as it was when I saved it.  Nevertheless, here it goes, goes, goes.

#1.  This is a video that I may have embedded before, if you've seen it, I apologize, but this video is always worth another viewing.  The reason it is perhaps appearing again is it came up in conversation this past week and I need/want to show Mr. Kenny Becker and Mr. Marcelo Pinell the video in which I was describing.  They may not even remember the conversation which is completely fine and honestly irrelevant.  Here's the video, perhaps the most bestest beatboxing-ish video I've ever seen.  Yes, there are close seconds, but I think this one sits in #1 spot.  Enjoy.

#2. This one is called the "GROWING MAGIC TRICK." I was sceptical when I clicked on this link, I was sceptical when I finished watching the video, and then it hit me, what really happened, what the video was really about.  It took place from 1997 to 2009.  This dude had been planning this video for 12 years.  What in the world.  It's a great video.  And I think I like the extremely dv tape, windows movie maker feel, it makes feel more raw and more "that was planned by some random dude."  Great vid, check check it.

#3.  You've all seen the paragraph that looks like this:

Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

We've all been, like, "Woah, that works!  That's crazy!"  I thought that too, and then I watched this video.  This video put a smirk on my face and a "I think the internet exists to take advantage of everybody for everything" idea.  This video destroys that paragraph.  Let's just say I enjoyed it.

That's the story, that's December 8th.  Hard to believe finals are next week.  Hard to believe how much work is to be done before finals next week.  Hard to believe I'm writing this blog instead of doing all this work I speak of.  Hard to believe I don't tell you every single detail on this blog, so you really don't know the context of my work.  Hard to believe the semester ends next week.  I mean, really?  I just got started in my classes, I finally got the hang of my schedule and in a pretty good groove.  I finally memorized what time my classes were at.  I finally could put away my campus map so I didn't get lost.  I finally took campus safety off my speed dial so they didn't have to come pick me up when I got lost.  And it all goes out the window.

Here's a sign for things to come:

Adios amigo.  Tenga un día bueno de mucha diversión.
